Last Summer Post
I am already late for Fall Trend Reports, but since it's late July and we have the whole August (and sometimes September and October), I am posting about my favorite summer trend. I guess calling it "pietra dura" is a little bit too specific, but just "floral" is a little bit boring. I like a very certain type of floral trend, that is a blend between Japanese floral prints and Florentine print that is a base for "pietra dura" ornament. Fashion doesn't follow rules or frames, plus it keeps revolving, so sometimes it's hard to specify what was the original influence. Calling it simply "floral trend" is defiantly an underestimation.
I will start posting explanations why I chose certain pieces, so you don't have to find identical items, but rather can create outfits independently and avoid most common mistakes of dress code. Plus, it would be easier to adjust it to your own budget, or give a second chance to clothes that you already have in your wardrobe, but never thought of it as of business wear.

P.S: Pay attention that ONLY one piece is floral and the rest is neutral, so this is what we have to keep in mind.

When it's getting really hot
When it's getting really HOT, dress code becomes more relaxed - that's the fact. Or maybe your boss is gone on vacation or you want to hint about some time off? Anyway, there are some unusual looks for working wardrobe. Caution: use carefully!
Something a little more acceptable in the office, but still very casual
I will make more posts on casual wear and save more formal styles for fall.

It's still sunny outside
When you watch too much of Fashion TV and follow 1000 blogs, you think a season ahead (and even further sometimes). Today I realized it's a middle of a summer still, so probably I should hold on to posting fall mash-ups.
So Summer it is! This outfit a might be a little bit too bright for some organizations, but if your office dress code let you some colour... then bright and flowery pencil skirts are just for you!

Since it's an internship season...
....It is necessary to post as many interview looks as possible. Actually, I am looking for one right now and read a tremendous amount of information on what to wear for the first interview. So....
1. Keep it basic. Pastel Top/Dark Bottom is the best combo. I know, it might be a little too boring, but there are crazy amount of interesting shape variation that might look conservative enough, but will show your taste also.
2. Less Skin - better. I don't think that I should really expand on it, but just to let you know, your skirt length should come at least to your knees while you are standing. Hose are the must! Absolute must! Actually it's one of the most important details, so please remember to cover your legs! Shoes with open toes are possible, but not really welcomed. I guess it's the etiquette rule that was formed a long time ago, but still haven't become obsolete. But, again, I would stay conservative at least until I get the job.
3. Bag/shoes: good quality (the best investment) and not too many details. Simplistic style in bags/shoes is really hard to find for a good price (if you haven't noticed, there is a tendency: simpler the style, higher the price), but it totally worth it, because things like that could be worn for years without looking out of fashion. Plus, cheap and poor quality is easy to spot and it could spoil the whole impression of your Resume and Cover Letter.
I strongly recommend you to read this awesome and fun article from Virginia Tech. It is an amazing source of information and it's really well written and fun to read.
